Invisible Selfie Stick Feature
Step into the world of cinematic 360° video with the compact Insta360 X4 360° 8K Camera, capable of capturing 8K30 360° video in dual or single-lens modes in a single portable action camera. The X4 offers an action-ready design with removable lens guards, up to 5K120 "Bullet Time" capture, and 11K timelapse, along with AI-powered software for an intuitive approach to creating dynamic content in any environment. The X4 also features an updated robust design, is natively waterproof up to 33 feet, and has an upgraded rechargeable 2290mAh battery for more runtime.
8K30 360° Video
The X4 features ultra-sharp 8K resolution, which is 78% more pixels than 5.7K, for more detail and clarity, making reframed video equal to standard camera footage for easier edits. Since footage is captured with high-quality H.265 compression, 8K files are small enough to be edited using the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio.
NOTE: Shooting in 8K consumes more power than lower resolutions. Only shoot in 8K in bright daylight conditions; it is recommended to reduce the capture resolution when shooting in low light.
60 fps Capture and Slow Motion in Me Mode
The X4 supports video up to 5.7K60 for ultra-high-resolution smooth shots. The camera also supports capture up to 4K100 for super slow-motion shots. Additionally, there is Me Mode, which records flat video with a 170° field of view, perfect for POV video with the invisible selfie stick. Me Mode supports 4K30 and slow-motion modes up to 2.7K120 with external stitching. When in 2.7K30 mode, the X4 supports in-camera stitching with ready-to-share MP4 files.
72 MP PureShot Photos
The X4 uses AI PureShot to process 72 MP photos in the camera, delivering high-quality, ready-to-share images with low noise and high-quality color.
MegaView Field of View
MegaView is a new field of view (FOV) option in the app/Studio software that processes 360° video with less distortion at the edges for overall higher image quality. MegaView supports multiple aspect ratios, including 1:1, 9:16, 16:9, 4:3, 3:4, and 2:35:1.
2 Cameras in One with 4K60 Single Lens Mode
The X4 camera also functions as a wide-angle action camera by shooting with only a single lens. This feature has been upgraded in the X4 to support 4K60 compared to previous models and supports a field of view of up to 170°.
NOTE: 4K60 is not suitable for low-light conditions.
Invisible Selfie Stick for Third-Person Views
When the X4 is attached to a selfie stick, the stick disappears from your edit, allowing you to capture aerial angles and third-person perspectives that would otherwise require a second operator.
Mobile Insta360 App
The Insta360 mobile app allows you to edit 360° footage with ease.
Quick Edit: Choose from various reframing methods, such as physically moving your phone, swiping the screen, using the new virtual joystick, or long-pressing to activate upgraded Deep Track 3.0 for smoother shots.
AI Editing: Simple editing for beginner users makes framing and editing easier.
Pro Mode: For a hands-on approach, you can manually add keyframes and perform advanced edits using the Pro tab.
Shot Lab: A collection of ready-made effects simplifies editing.
Motion ND: Apply cinematic ND filters without needing actual filters to achieve the Motion ND effect.
App Background Download: Download footage from the camera while the Insta360 app quietly works in the background, freeing up your phone for other tasks.
AI Gesture Control
You can now use hand gestures to start/stop recording or take photos; this is perfect for group shots, noisy places, mounting on a selfie stick, when wearing thick gloves, or simply to avoid disturbing others in the area with audio like voice control.
5.7K120 Bullet Time
Capture "Bullet Time" (a reference from The Matrix) slow-motion video using the 5.7K120 Bullet Time mode on the X4. This mode allows you to achieve cinematic slow-motion looks using higher frame rates and resolutions.
11K Timelapse and 8K TimeShift
11K Timelapse: 360° timelapse video is now available in 11K on the X4, capturing a wide view over time from a fixed position.
8K TimeShift: Users will be able to create a creative video in an easy-to-use mode with a selfie stick while moving around.
Desktop Insta360 Studio Software
Use the new and improved Insta360 Studio and take your 360° skills to the next level and stand out. It features keyframe creation, professional tools, H.265 encoding, 100 Mb/s bitrate, 4K output, and high frame rate capabilities for action footage, ideal for uploading to websites like YouTube.
A new Insta360 Reframe plugin for Adobe Premiere is also available; this saves you time during your editing workflow. It imports .insv files directly into Premiere without stitching, improves image quality, and simplifies the process by not requiring you to exit the Premiere application to process your footage.
New Removable Lens Guards
The X4 has been redesigned with removable lens guards, allowing you to take the camera into the field without damaging the lenses. Optional, separately available Premium lens guards are made of scratch-resistant and crystal-clear, transparent, tempered glass and can be used during shooting.
2.5" Touchscreen
The bright touchscreen is made of durable Gorilla Glass and has been updated to a larger 2.5" size, allowing you to control the camera, select shooting modes, change settings, preview your images and shots, and more.
2290mAh Battery
The X4, with its removable 2290mAh battery, has a 67% higher battery capacity than its predecessor. It has been tested to operate in 5.7K30 360° video mode for up to 135 minutes of recording time. It can operate for up to 71 minutes in 8K30 mode.
FlowState Stabilization
The X4 provides smooth and stable image stabilization, no matter what adventure you're on, from rocky roads to choppy waves.
360° Horizon Lock
No matter how the X4 is mounted, held, or used, your video will come out stable and level with the horizon thanks to 360° Horizon Lock.
Waterproof Design
Your camera is waterproof up to 33 ft, so dive into the water with your X4 without a case. You can also use the Invisible Dive Case, available separately, which allows shooting up to 164 ft.
Connectivity Options
The USB-C 3.0 port connects your X4 camera to a computer to charge or offload images.
Wi-Fi transmission speed has been upgraded to perform 58% faster than the X4.
A microSD card can be used to record to the camera, and a card with a minimum class of UHS-I V30 and up to 1 TB in storage size can be used.
